It rained. Twice in two days! And it wasn't the wimpy, fine shower that Southern Californians call "rain" either. While I was driving Yumi to gymnastics, Rain No. 2 started out as fat, heavy, intermittent drops of water on the windshield. And then the sky let loose. For a few minutes -- and only for a few minutes! -- it came down in torrents. Suddenly, the road was a river. Jets of water sprayed from underneath cars as they rolled by, water rushed and swirled in the gutters. It was completely disorienting. And glorious.
Since the early reviews of Terry's new menu were published, April had been dying to go. So where else would we go but Terry's to send off Mabi who is going on vacation. It's hard to say what we love about Terry's because obviously the food is good and the wine selection is fantastic. But it's just become our place, thought it IS at the basement of a mall and we can always here cars on their way up to park at the levels above us. There are places with better ambience, for sure. But I've never left Terry's sad. We always make our way out laughing and woozy. And wishing we could say longer.
