We drove to the desert for Asha's gymnastics world championship, and also for a little vacation. The first sign that it was going to be an exciting weekend was that our family got a free upgrade from a standard room to a private one-bedroom villa with a hot tub, a barbecue grill, and butler service. (We enjoyed the first two amenities, we avoided the third. Haha.) We've had a string of good luck these past couple of weeks. It's so strange. Good luck is very unnerving, to be honest. But I don't want to jinx it!
I have postcards around me to combat cabin fever. It gets quiet at the office. It gets really intense. We're all introverts. Without anyone initiating conversation, we all fold into isolation so easily. My dream life is the opposite. I've been dreaming of rivers. As in I am traversing a powerful and noisy and shifty body of water from a high vantage so that I can see the it go on and on around the earth. And I go forth with it.
