coming home, i saw the lights go off. philcoa was so dark but bustling still. the ground was damp from the rain. at home, marie was grilling bangus by candlelight and april was hand-winding a flashlight so it would recharge. when the power came back, i played the indigo girls.
i tackled the laundry all by myself. and i made a danish cucumber salad. i used the mandoline for the first time and struggled to put it together, nearly slicing my fingers in the process. then my palms turned swollen and itchy from handling cucumber. totally living on the edge today.
